The Anatomy Movement Course

Andrea Borrero, The Anatomy Movement Online Course

The human body is a thing of formidable beauty. Understanding the relationship with your body is one of the most insightful experiences you’ll ever have.

The Anatomy Movement Course is designed with the mover that you are in mind.

It’s a relationship that can only be deepened by intense conversation via a common language, radical listening, and positive reinforcement – just like any other relationship.

Regardless of activity level, age, ability, or range, we are all movers, as well as students of anatomy, whether we know it or not.

I really enjoyed these lectures on anatomy, Andrea. I love breaking down the human body into digestable bits and I find it to be an important part of the whole experience of mindfulness and embodying yoga/movement, both for ourselves and for our students.

What if you feel disconnected from your body? Less than happy with its ability to do what you ask? Maybe you feel like it’s not in your control? Or chronic pain is keeping you from moving the way you want? Or maybe you just want to know a little more about what makes you fundamentally, well, you.

Your body should be a place to call home, a sanctuary, and the very center of your universe. How you might ask. It starts with learning how the body works in movement and the laws that govern its actions, while accepting your unique experience and ability. It starts with learning the language your body speaks, the language of anatomy.

In The Anatomy Movement Course, you’ll learn the language of anatomy and explore all the spaces that move and make shapes through more than 18 hours of self-study.

We’ll dive deep together into all the major structures and learn more about the ‘jobs’ of joints, why planes of motion are an important concept, how the human movement system works, why fascia and bio-tensegrity are important elements, and how, as movement students and teachers, we can learn to ‘see’ movement beneath the surface of the skin and how it applies above.

Multiple practices are included in the course as well, both geared towards integrating the spine with the upper and lower bodies, and adapting anatomical concepts into a yoga class. We can also connect via our Community platform to discuss about anything related to the course.

Here is an overview of what you will learn in the
