The Warrior Flow School is proud to present our highly anticipated training program on Yoga for Bigger Bodies, featuring Cara-Lea Suttie. As the practice of yoga continues to expand, it is crucial to eliminate the stigma surrounding larger bodies in our society. In this training, you will gain knowledge on adapting, modifying, and offering variations in yoga poses to meet the unique needs of students of diverse sizes, flexibility levels, and comfort.

This comprehensive 5-hour course is specifically designed to provide students, teachers, and anyone working with individuals in larger bodies an understanding of the detrimental effects of diet culture and body shaming.

Meet your Instructor

Cara-Lea Suttie (they/she) is an accessible yoga guide who is dedicated to promoting self-acceptance and body peace through intentional and mindful movement and meditation. She is deeply passionate about advocating for fat liberation and social justice in her work.

Cara's diverse background and extensive training equips her with the knowledge and skills to create inclusive and accessible yoga experiences for all individuals. Through her teachings, she strives to empower others and foster a sense of belonging and acceptance
in the yoga community.

  • Introduction to Yoga for Bigger Bodies: This section establishes a foundation of knowledge and sets the tone for a body-positive practice. Our instructor, Cara, shares her personal and inspiring narrative, emphasizing the significance of this training.
  • Diet Culture and Anti-Fat Bias: This crucial topic explores societal influences, challenging diet culture, and promoting body acceptance. Participants will navigate the complexities of self-image versus body image, fostering a positive relationship with their bodies.
  • Being Fat in Movement Spaces: Shedding light on the experiences, challenges, and growth opportunities for individuals in bigger bodies within movement and yoga spaces. This section aims to promote inclusivity and address the unique needs of participants.
  • Teaching Asana for students in Bigger Bodies: Equipping participants with practical knowledge, adaptations, and effective cues to create a safe, inclusive, and empowering yoga practice for individuals in bigger bodies. Participants will learn how to adapt asanas to accommodate diverse body sizes and abilities.
